A Little Pep in my Step!


Mmmm...You gotta love blueberries!  Oh! Hey there! 
Everyone's heard of the saying 'an apple a day keeps the doctor away' but have you ever heard 'a blueberry smoothie a day keeps the doctor away'? I take that as a no. So why are blueberries so good for you?

Well, although their small petite size, blueberries are bursting with antioxidants to battle of cancer and other diseases. In fact, they are one of nature's perfect anti-inflammatory foods and is also classified a brain food! Furthermore, they are excellent anti-diabetes food, both in prevention and control of the disease. They promote urinary, heart health and digestive health and aid weight loss as well as a healthy diet. In fact, blueberry nutrition goes way beyond anti-oxidants....

And what's more, they taste great with a unique tangy flavor that can be used in almost any recipe like muffins, cheesecakes, pies, pancakes and even gingerbread! But my favorite is the classic blueberry smoothie! 

So why don't you whip up a blueberry smoothie with the recipe below:

  Chuck the following into your blender:
1 Cup of blueberries
1 Cup of Vanilla yogurt or plain yogurt
3/4 Cup low fat milk
2 Tablespoons of white sugar

Half a teaspoon of vanilla extract 
And blend for 1-2 minutes and 
VOILA!!! 
Your perfect blueberry smoothie in under 5 minutes. My go-to snack

Another tip-
You can keep any excess smoothie in the fridge for up to 12 hours just stir before drinking. This way, you can enjoy the smoothie all hours of the day!
