5 tips for Luscious Hair this Winter!

Not only does Winter cold dry out our skin, it also drys out our hair and scalp, leaving your locks dry, dull and frizzy. So, I'm here with some hair saving tips to keep your locks soft, hydrated and frizz-free this Winter!

1. Skip a Shampoo or Two!
Shampooing everyday is not only unnecessary, but it can be damaging, especially for the scalp. Washing your hair frequently strips your hair of natural oils that keep your scalp hydrated and promotes new hair growth. However, if you have any excess oils, opt for a dry shampoo that is a little less harsh on your hair. So, skip a wash  (or two) to allow sebum - hair's natural conditioner- to kick in and give a natural shine to your hair.

2. Switch up your Shampoo
A once a week shampoo switch up can really do wonders for your hair. And why you ask? Well, switching up your shampoo every once in a while will mix and build up a different dose of ingredients for your hair. Mixing up a super- hydrating shampoo and one that imparts shine will really make your hair luscious.

3. Use Leave in Conditioner
It's all about moisture, so opting for a leave in conditioner will do just the job! As well as offering massive hydration, a leave in conditioner will enhance your natural texture- 2 in 1! Any serum will replenish your hair with oils and will really treat your scalp- where most of the damage is- and will also give your hair silky nourishment and moisture.

4. Cap it off!
When spending time outdoors, wear a hat to help retain your scalp's moisture level. a wool fedora or knit beret will protect your hair, retain your body's heat and give you style points to boot!

5. Colder, Shorter Showers
I've mentioned this tip in one of my skincare posts, but limit your showers to 10 minutes and cranking down the heat will stop from drying out you and your hair!
